Greetings to all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Thank you for checking us out on the World Wide Web! I invite you to visit us in person on Sunday mornings or drop by our offices Monday through Thursday, 8:30 to 3:30.

First Evangelical (and we do like to use that second word) is the oldest Lutheran congregation in what we call the East Valley, which includes Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert and Apache Junction. We are easy to find since many roads lead to us, but we are not easy to see from any of the major roads. Please consult our map before coming.

Although the oldest (55 years old) Lutheran congregation, we don't look our age. Our buildings are beautiful and modern looking. We actually enjoy giving tours of our new Close Memorial Garden and Ministry, our new HeadStart room and our creatively painted Sunday School rooms that feature the new "rotational" classroom curriculum. Our youth rooms are spacious and beautiful.

We are a congregation redefining ourselves. Our vision is more outward these days as we reach out to many communities outside of our parish. We serve many Lutheran and other Protestant congregations as a host site for Cursillo. We are an auxiliary site for Lutheran Social Ministry of the Southwest (food pantry) and a host parish for a (non-Roman) Catholic, Hispanic parish, several AA groups and other community groups.
